DOOR HARPS

Each one beautifully hand crafted from the finest hardwoods

Usually mounted on the inside of an entry door, these wonderful little instruments greet you and your guests with a wonderful chiming tune every time the door is swung open or closed.

18" Door Harps

The 6 Door Harps shown below are available for immediate shipment.  They measure 18" tall, and 5" wide at their widest point.  Each one has 8 strings of music wire, with 4 clappers hung on hardwood dowels that can not tangle.  Each one is shipped with an information and instruction sheet.  They are easily mounted with just one screw (included), and shipping is free within the continental US.

Starting at the upper left, the Americana harp with Yellow Poplar over 200 years old.  This wood was rescued from the first nail factory built in colonial America in an area of Mass. known as the Bridgewaters. Next is an unusual harp of American Black Walnut where I was able to use a natural knothole for the soundhole. A harp of Australian Lacewood with a heart shaped soundhole.  Bottom row, is a Maple harp with Denver Bronco logo, another Maple harp with Celtic Dogs, and then a Curly Maple harp with a "Zia" soundhole featuring a Roadrunner of African Padauk that seems to float within the body of the harp.

Please feel free to e-mail harp@harpmaker.net for more specifics about any one of these harps.  Each is priced at $135.00 and shipping is free within the continental US.

Occasionally, one or more may be marked as sold.  This is only a temporary condition until I finish another to replace my "on hand" stock.

12" Door Harps

Made with the same high standards of quality and fine hardwoods as our 18" harps, these door harps measure 12" tall and 4" wide.  They have 6 music wire strings, and 3 clappers.  The 12" Door Harps sell for $95.00, and of course, that includes free shipping in the US.

From upper left, we have a Cherry harp with a Yin Yang soundhole, a Western Red Cedar harp, and a Cherry harp with decorated soundhole.  On the bottom row we have an African Padauk harp with a Wolf in the soundhole, a Tulipwood basic harp, and then a Walnut basic harp.

We frequently customize the soundhole design on both sizes of Door Harps.  From Animals to Zias, we've built quite a variety of custom harps over the years.  Please feel free to e-mail any questions you may have about any of these harps, or about having a custom harp built to your own specifications.

And speaking of custom harps, click on the image of this completed custom harp.  This is a very unusual beauty that is well worth taking a look at.

Please note that our clappers, or strikers, are hung on hardwood dowels, guaranteeing that the clappers will never tangle and interrupt the harps ability to play for you.

Personalize Your Harp

A brand new variation we have just developed is a way to personalize the harp with a monogram.  These initials are etched into a hard Maple disc which is then inserted into the round soundhole.  Examples are below.

Please e-mail harp@harpmaker.net for ordering information.
